A green home grows in Jericho

Century 21 Prevete announces the listing of a new green construction home in the East Birchwood section of Jericho, NY.  This home is being built by BJC Contracting Co., Inc. of Brookville, NY.  It will be an example of the best technology available in green construction today. This new colonial will not only be Energy Star rated, it will feature some very innovative technologies. Most impressive are the geothermal heating and solar panels. A family of four will be able to meet virtually all of their energy needs with these systems. State of the art Kohler products will be used throughout, e.g. the dual flush toilet. Electrolux appliances that are energy efficient and save water will also be used. Their washer dryer completes the entire laundry cycle in 36 minutes and consumes 50% less energy. The energy efficient double hung windows by Pella are pre-finished at the factory. Being green is not just being energy efficient with high R value spray foam insulation, but defines a healthier home with products such as low VOC paints from Sherwin Williams that decrease allergies.
